Remote Retrieval Services Survey

This study is an initiative of the Menzies School of Health Research.

Those wishing to contribute will participate in a 60 minute interview conducted by Benxiang (Ben) Zeng PhD, MEcon, BAgSc, GradCertPubHlth. Senior Research Fellow with the Remote Health Systems and Climate Change Centre

If you're not a member of ASA, feel free to join and participate. Your voice in the world of aeromedical transport should be heard. This is a great example of the contribution ASA members can make

The study (and ASA's promotion of the study) have ethics approval.

Although this is not an initiative of the ASA, it is very much in line with the goals and mission of the Society. Hence it has the support of ASA.

The project aims to document the different characteristics of various retrieval models in remote Australia, investigating how they are similar and different from each other, with the aim of improving understanding of how well different models work, and which remote Australian aeromedical retrieval model characteristics are associated with optimal timeliness, efficiency, and health outcomes for patients. This project also wants to identify and reach agreement upon key indicators that could be used by remote aeromedical retrieval services across Australia to monitor performance and thereby drive quality improvement.

The project hopes that by working with a range of different retrieval services and stakeholders, the learnings, for example about what works, for whom and in what circumstances can be shared between organizations thereby enabling further improvements to retrieval services. The project will collect administrative data from retrieval services and organisations, interview with people who have good understanding of the retrieval services and systems, such as ASA members.

A form is attached for those interested in participating.
